 NOVEMBER COMMUNION OFFERING

IN HIS STEPS MINISTRY

Jasper and Carolyn Bacon began In His Steps in 1994 after serving eight years with a local Canton church. The ministry received its 501(c)(3) status in April 1995, making it an official nonprofit organization serving the Canton community. The mission of In His Steps is to use innovative and specialized ministries to impact the lives of children, youth, and families for the glory of Jesus Christ, mainly through education, mentoring, and evangelizing.

In His Steps serves the Canton community through five branches of ministry that have grown over the years. Began in 1995, the Intervention Ministry’s purpose is to share Christ with incarcerated boys in detention centers in the Jackson metro area.

In 2002, In His Steps started their Prevention Ministry, an after school program labeled the SPASE program, which meets the Social, Physical, Academic, Spiritual, and Emotional needs of a child. In addition, a Saturday Morning Reading Program and a six-week Summer Enrichment program help In His Steps further minister to the children in Canton. Through the Family Ministry, In His Steps hosts annual family conferences and periodic workshops for parents in the community to learn life skills through Bible-based and Christ-centered instruction.

The Sports Ministry offers weekly devotions and bible studies for local junior and high school athletes, and within the past few years has created a thriving summer sports camp lineup. In His Steps’ Compassionate Services closely intertwines with all of our ministries, as we make it our goal to meet the physical needs of the people in Canton as well as sharing the gospel of Christ with them. This branch of the ministry allows In His Steps to repair homes, organize Vacation Bible Schools in local neighborhoods, and share the love of Christ by serving the community of Canton.
